Everyone knows the shell. Almost no one has seen the animal that makes it: a sea snail under an inch long that lives in pairs on the edge of the reef, changes shape with the tide, follows the trails of its kind and broods its eggs under its foot. First of a series on cowries.

Tutti conoscono la conchiglia. Quasi nessuno ha visto l’animale che la fabbrica: un gasteropode di due centimetri che vive a coppie sul bordo della barriera, cambia forma secondo la marea, segue le scie degli altri e cova le uova col piede. Primo di una serie sulle cowrie.
